Meet Landers
Where dog is located now: Paw's Rescue My StoryThe good folks at Paw's aren't sure if I have ever known a safe and loving place to call home. It was difficult for the Paw's volunteer to catch me but when she did, they discovered that I am blind in one eye, I had organs external to my body, a blood infection, and a case of heartworms. When you read my story you will know that I have a real determination to live! After the veterinarians lovingly repaired my body I had a long up hill battle, both physically and emotionally. My foster mom was ever so diligent in seeing about me and she carried me back and forth from my bed to the yard because I was unable to walk. At first I showed no interest in interacting with humans or dogs and I would lie motionless when petted. I eventually began to look forward to the attention my foster mom would give me and I would wag my tail. One day, my foster mom saw me in the yard and I actually started playing with a toy. Every sign of life and progress was celebrated! I no longer have to cower in fear because I have found a safe haven. The volunteers at Paws Rescue are dedicated to meeting my emotional needs while my body continues to heal. Their optimism, patience and love has paid off and I have continued to become a better dog and companion every single day. Update: I am a brand new dog! I am super sweet and have so much personality! The Paws volunteers can hardly believe the beautiful and spirited butterfly that emerged from the fearful cocoon of a dog that I was before their salvation! If you think you can make a difference in my special life by earning my trust and make me a permanent member of your family, please call my saviors at Paws Rescue.
